Tips Misc-Growing Vegetables from Seed

Growing vegetables from seed is a great way to experiment with varieties that you can’t find at your local garden center (or supermarket, for that matter). Come January/February the seed catalogs start arriving, and we gardeners start dreaming, but when and how do you use seeds?

In 2012 MGC’s Monika Hannemann gave a talk to Maplewood Green Drinks on how to start vegetable plants from seed—tailored to the needs of gardeners in Maplewood, NJ. She generously shared that presentation with us.  Monika’s detailed presentation still holds true today.
