Growing Vegetables from Seed

Growing vegetables from seed is a great way to experiment with varieties that you can’t find at your local garden center (or supermarket, for that matter). Come January/February the seed catalogs start arriving, and we gardeners start dreaming, but when and how do you use seeds?

In 2012 our youth gardening chair, Monika Hannemann, gave a talk to Maplewood Green Drinks on how to start vegetable plants from seed—tailored to the needs of gardeners in Maplewood, NJ. She generously shared the presentation with us.
