Happy Spring 2018! We’re back for another growing season of gardening fun for families, friends and volunteers.
Our mission is to learn together how to grow organic vegetables and plants, and give back to our local community by providing our local food pantries with fresh vegetables for those in need.
We garden on 2 Saturdays per month from 9-11 in the MapleFood Garden behind Town Hall. Gardening dates and times (if there are scheduling changes) will be confirmed via bi-weekly email updates.
Our program is free to participants as we the Maplewood Garden Club’s youth garden program, but we are always grateful for extra support – helping with watering during the week and some weekends, weeding, and delivering vegetables to food pantries. Also please support our club by shopping at the annual plant sale in May and joining the club with an annual membership. See www.maplewoodgardenclub.
org for more information. Thanks in advance!
Our first program will take place this coming Saturday, March 31st from 9-10:30am. We’ll be preparing garden beds outdoors as well transplanting seedlings in the greenhouse if it rains. Please dress accordingly – it may be rainy and/or chilly.
Please RSVP by email if you’re interested in joining us on Saturday – space is limited in the greenhouse so please let me know you’re coming so that I can plan accordingly for numbers of participants. Our next program will be on Saturday, April 14th from 9-11am.
Finally, if you are no longer interested in receiving our emails, please let me know and I can remove you from this email list. We have over 100 families on my regular email list and I want to make sure that no one considers us spam 🙂
Happy gardening everyone and looking forward to digging and planting together soon.
